Dr. Simona Mihai Yiannaki
Professor of Finance and Chairperson, European University Cyprus

Dr. Simona Mihai Yiannaki is a Professor in Finance, Chairperson of the Department of Accounting, Economics and Finance, at the European University Cyprus (EUC). She is also a Full Professor of Finance and serves as Visiting Professor at LUMSA University (Rome) in Sustainable Finance and Data Analytics.
Dr. Simona Mihai Yiannaki is a distinguished finance scholar and academic leader with research interests spanning banking and financial services innovation, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, risk management for banks and SMEs, fintech, alternative finance, entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation in higher education, and distance learning. Since 2023, she has served as Coordinator of the MSc in Data Analytics in Accounting and Finance, and in 2024 she co-organised the World Finance Conference in Cyprus.
She has coordinated and contributed to numerous EU-funded research and innovation projects, including 4ArtPreneur, DIMAS, FA-ST, SHADOWS, GET-UP, ANGEL, ARDES, ICTEntrepreneur, and SCIENT, and has extensive experience as a grant evaluator for international organisations, including the European Science Foundation (ESF), the World Bank, and ministries in Montenegro and Israel.
Professor Mihai Yiannaki serves on the editorial boards of several international academic journals, including the Global Business and Economics Review. Her academic excellence has been recognised with several prestigious awards, including The EUC PHD Scholarship Award in 2026, the Best Research Award (EuroMed Conference, 2014), Best Reviewer Award (2013), the EuroMed Research Business Institute Contributor Award (2009), and being a Fulbright Scholarship finalist (2003).
