Dr Kyprianou is consultant physician and researcher in Respiratory & Intensive Care Medicine practicing in the UK & Cyprus. He holds the post of Associate Professor at St Georges’ University of London MBBS-4 Medical Program delivered at the Medical School, University of Nicosia and has been the founding Head of the Dept of Intensive Care – Nicosia General Hospital in Cyprus (2006-2018). He has long-standing interest in the applications of Informatics in Medicine and in ICM. He is co-coordinating the MSc -distance learning- program: Applied Health Informatics & Telemedicine at the Open University of Cyprus and served as Chair (2015-2017) of the Technology Assessment & Health Informatics WG and as deputy chair of the e-Learning Committee (2016-2018) at the European Society of Intensive Care MMedicine.He had also served as deputy-chair in Bioethics Committee. His research interests focus on ICU eHealth, bio-signals and Big data analytics. He is currently member of the standing program committee of EU HORIZON 2020 (SC1-Health, Demographic Change and Wellbeing) based in Brussels. He has published extensively in peer reviewed journals in his scientific field, has raised multi-million funding and coordinated national/ international research programs and is frequently invited to lecture in Cyprus, Europe and the Middle East. He has volunteered as mentor with the NEXT program of ESICM and as physician in missions in sub-Saharan Africa.
